Hey Family,

The Knights got on the scoreboard first in this game, but Catonsville tied it up by halftime.

Catonsville was able to get the ball in the net twice more before the Knighs could get one back.

The Knights put on some pretty intense pressure late, but could not tie it up.

The officiating was rec level in this game as I'm not sure they were familiar with the rules. One ref had a son on the opposing side and the refs were awfully chummy with the opponents parents after the game so maybe there was some other reason for the inconsistant calls.

That's just me saying that. The kids were real pros and didn't say a word even though it was pretty obvious. If you look at my posts, I'm not one to make a point like this, but.....

Well, you can't win 'em all.

The Knights were never able to get into a rhythm after Damascus scored early. North County fell behind 5-0 before cracking the back of the net in around the 80th minute. The Knights scored on a textbook corner kick to a header, right in the net. Scott had the far post covered just in case.

Scott did well. The score was 1-1 with him in the game, but everyone played well.
The ball just didn't bounce our way.

The Knights take on Catonsville next Monday..Good Luck and GO KNIGHTS!!

KNIGHTS 7 .... Friendly HS 1 (09.11.09)

Hey Family,

The Friendly HS Patriots (Baltimore City) were a tough bunch early, but once the Knights pierced the net once, the flood gates opened.

This was the first game of a season opening tournament hosted by North County. The tournament includes Friendly HS, Damascus HS, Arundel HS, and of course OUR KNIGHTS.
The Knights opened scoring at around the 10 minute mark with a shot from about 20 yards. The Knights then poured in three more goals before half.

The Knights started off strong in the second half. On a free kick from about 60 yards out, Scott timed his run perfectly and got behind the defense. He received the ball and was one-on-one with the goalie and scored.

The Knights were up 6-0 when Friendly made a nice run and just got past goalie.

Scott also got an assist in this game. He made a 70 yard run to the corner and passed it to the middle where a teammate put it away.

No video for this game. It was pouring down rain the whole time.
